So we were at this Austrian restaurant on Friday night... called 'No Kangaroo'... apparently (not quite sure how?), people in Germany get Austria (cold & 2 hours away) confused with Australia (hot & dry, 24 hours away).

Anyway... the delicacy is schnitzel & sausage...we couldn't help but make childish sausage faces out of our dinner... sad but true!

Sweet Like Candy

While cruising the Mauerpark Flohmarket in Prenzlauer Berg today, we were so excited to find this candy store complete with a PopCorn machine (every home should have one, along with a bier tap) & better still Fairy Floss! But please pay special attention to the old school candy... ring pops, fili foli gum & best of all... WUNDERBALLS! Ja! Ja! xx.

Santa Dog

Our local Santa is out & about already... in the form of a dog! Apparently it's Berlins most famous dog. We're not quite sure whether or not to believe his owners street marketing campaign. Nonetheless its a cool dog... cool as in (fucking freezing) cold & cool as in putting up with an owner that makes him sit in a Santa's hat for 6 hours on a Sunday in zero degree temperature.

The Ja! Ja! Van!

We're just so in love with this van, even if it is a lesbian transportation device... with a picture of two girls holding hands & a statement saying 'I like sex'. But it's such a cool van!

Kreuzberg, the most eastern part of former West Berlin, is home to the third largest Turkish population in the world. There is no shortage of kebabs! But in attempt not to turn into a kebab, we have discovered something really cool.

On Tuesdays and Fridays our favourite thing to do is grab our calico shopping bag and walk along next to the river & fill it with the fresh food at the Turkish market. This place is a visual feast, olives, piles of bread so high Dr Atkins would turn in his grave, fresh fruit, vegetables & herbs, grains & pulses... and our favourite thing of all, the Tulumba Tatlisi. This, most definitely, is NOT what the doctor ordered (deep fried pastry covered in hot sugar syrup), but it is, the sweetest most delicious treat we've tasted in a while.
